HANNAH GABRIELLE PRESSMAN
Theatre Artist
I'm Hannah, a director, actor, and visual artist based between Connecticut and Massachusetts. I am currently studying theatre and psychology at Williams College.
I am passionate about the intersection between theatre, psychology, and social justice, using the arts as a catalyst for sociopolitical change. My projects center around locating and confronting systems of power and oppression across a variety of theatrical genres in response to current social issues.
I am also the Undergraduate Production Intern at Spark Productions, a Broadway production company representing issue-driven theatrical projects.
A focus of my work is arts education; I have developed extensive theatre education programs in both New York and Connecticut that are accessible to students and families regardless of socioeconomic status. In my projects, I see a lack of resources not as a frustrating limitation, but as a fascinating challenge that breeds creative problem solving. I enjoy using limitations to my advantage, creating art that speaks to audiences because of the relatability and necessity of stories, rather than relying on spectacle.
